A request did not appear on my live screen
Check that the gig is live, that Taking requests is on, that the phone is not stopped, and that you are connected.
When a request arrives, the screen edge flashes, a message appears, and the request lands in the live list. If someone says they sent one and you saw nothing, work down this list.
1. Is the gig live?
If you have not pressed Go Live, your page tells the audience "Not taking requests right now." and suggests they give you a nudge. Go live, then ask them to try again.
If the gig ended while they were sending, their screen says "That gig closed while your request was sending. Nothing went through."
2. Is Taking requests on?
- On the live screen, open Room controls.
- Look at the switch Taking requests.
- If it is off, the audience sees "Not taking new requests just now." Switch it on.
Anything sent before you paused is still in your queue.
3. Has that phone been stopped?
If you stopped a phone for the rest of the gig, its owner sees "Requests from this phone are closed for the rest of this gig." and no request form. Nothing they try will reach you. See blocking, pausing and reporting.
4. Did they hit the limit?
Each phone has a limit on how often it can send. Room controls shows it as "From one phone, every 5 minutes". If paid requests are running, a different allowance applies. See request limits.
5. Is it under Held back?
A request that contains a word on our language filter stays out of your queue. It waits in the Held back list at the foot of the live screen. Open it to play the song or skip it.
6. Is your own screen connected?
Your live list also checks for new requests about every 20 seconds, so a weak signal can delay it, not lose it. Check your signal, then keep the app open. If the app looks frozen, see the app is stuck or out of date.
You will see: the request in your queue (or in Held back), with the song and, if they gave one, the name.
If the audience still cannot send, ask them to reload your page and try once more. If the problem repeats, email hello@anyrequests.app with the venue and the approximate time.
