Request limits

Request limits set how many requests one phone can send in five minutes: Tight is 2, Balanced is 4, Relaxed is 8, or choose your own from 1 to 30.

Choose a limit

  1. Tap Setup at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Open the Request limits section.
  3. Tap one of the four cards.
CardWhat it allows
Tight2 requests every 5 minutes
Balanced4 requests every 5 minutes
Relaxed8 requests every 5 minutes
CustomAnything from 1 to 30

You will see: the line Saved. One phone can send 4 requests every 5 minutes. with your number in it. There is no Save button. A tap saves straight away, and if it cannot save, the card goes back and says so.

New accounts start on Balanced.

Custom

  1. Tap Custom.
  2. Type a whole number from 1 to 30 in Requests every 5 minutes.

If the number is not a whole number between 1 and 30, you are asked to pick one. It does not round for you.

How the limit works

The limit is per phone. Every phone gets the same allowance.

The five minutes roll. Nobody is locked out for five minutes. The oldest request drops out of the count and that phone can send again. A phone over the limit sees a friendly message asking it to wait a few minutes.

Change it during a gig

Open Room controls on the live screen and choose Tight, Balanced or Relaxed under From one phone, every 5 minutes. This is for that gig only. Your setting on Setup does not change, and the audience is not told. See Room controls.

When paid requests are on

If you sell requests (a Pro feature that is not on sale yet), this limit does not apply while paid requests run. Switch paid requests off and your limit comes back as it was. See Paid requests.
