My tip button is not showing
The tip button appears only once Stripe has approved your account and tips are on for the gig; check the Tips screen first.
Your audience sees the tip button only when two things are true. Stripe has approved your account to take payments, and tips are switched on for the gig.
Check Stripe first
- Tap Tips in the main menu, then the Setup tab.
- Look for the heading You can be tipped. It says "Stripe has approved your account and tips are switched on. Your tip button is live on your page."
- If you see the Stripe form, or "Stripe is reviewing your details", the button stays hidden until Stripe finishes. See stripe verification problems.
If you have not set up Stripe at all, the audience see no tip option. The Go Live form tells you: "Tips are not set up, so nobody at this gig will see a tip option." Tap Set up payments there to go to the right screen.
Check the switches
Pro accounts can turn tips off, and Pro is not on sale yet. If you have it, check two places:
- Take tips at my gigs in the Tips section of your Profile page (the Setup tab). When it is off, your audience sees no tip button, no fees and no tipping wording anywhere. They can still send requests.
- Tips at this gig in the Room controls on the live screen. Tips off means "No tip button, and no fee wording." This is for that gig only and does not change your own setting.
Check the audience's phone
- Ask them to reload your page. A page that was already open can show the old state.
- A phone you have stopped for the gig is not shown a tip card.
- Open your page yourself on another phone. Use try it as the audience to see what they see.
You will see: the tip button on your page.
