Notifications are not arriving

Notifications are set up one device at a time in Settings, and an iPhone or iPad needs AnyRequests on its home screen first.

Check the switch on this device

Notifications are per device. A phone and an iPad each have their own switch, and each has to be turned on.

  1. Open the menu and tap Settings, then Notifications.
  2. Look at the switch Notify me when a request comes in.
  3. Turn it on. Your device asks permission. Choose Allow.

You will see: "Notifications are on for this device." and under the switch, "On for this device. Each phone or tablet you sign in on has its own switch."

What the screen tells you when the switch will not move

What it saysWhat to do
On iPhone and iPad, add AnyRequests to your home screen first, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.Do that, then open AnyRequests from the home screen icon and switch it on there. On iPhone and iPad, notifications work only from the home screen app, not from a tab in the browser.
Notifications are blocked for this app in your device settings.Open Settings on the device itself, find AnyRequests, and allow Notifications. It cannot be changed from inside AnyRequests.
The permission prompt was dismissedTap the switch again and choose Allow.
Notifications are taking longer than expected to set upTap Try again. If that does not help, close AnyRequests, open it again and go back to Settings.
Notifications outside the app are not available on this deviceThis is a limit of the device's system, not a setting. Reinstalling will not change it.
This device is already registered to a different AnyRequests accountLog out of that other account on this device first.

Some older iPhones and iPads cannot receive notifications at all. See which phones and browsers work.

While AnyRequests is open

You do not need notifications while the app is open. The screen edge flashes, a message appears, the Go Live button counts up and the request lands in the live list.

What to expect

New requests, payouts and account notices arrive silently. One makes a sound: another act at your venue asking if you have finished.

Notification checks

If you see a Notification checks section under the switch, open it, tap Copy details and send what it says to hello@anyrequests.app. It only appears on accounts where we have switched it on, so most accounts will not see it. Email us anyway if the switch will not work.
