HelpRunning a gig

Room controls

Room controls is the panel on the live screen for stopping new requests, changing the request limit, taking a break and putting a message on your page.

Open it

  1. On the live screen, tap Room controls, next to Add a song.
  2. Make your changes.
  3. Tap the cross to close.

Switches and the request limit save the moment you tap them. A message is different: it is only sent when you tap Put it on your page.

Taking requests

The top switch is Taking requests. Switch it off to stop new requests. Your queue stays, and the audience can still vote and tip. Switch it on again to take requests.

While it is off, the request limit and the free or paid choice below it are greyed out. Their values are kept.

From one phone, every 5 minutes

Choose Tight (2), Balanced (4) or Relaxed (8). If your own setting is a different number, a fourth button called Your setting appears so you can get back to it.

This is for this gig only. Your own setting is not changed, and the audience is not told. You see a short note such as Requests: Balanced. See Request limits.

Requests at this gig and Tips at this gig

These two are part of Pro, which is not on sale yet. On a Standard account they show with a Pro mark, greyed out, and say Part of Pro. Coming soon. when you press them. Paid requests change from free to paid for this gig only. Tips can be turned on or off for this gig only.

On a break

  1. Switch on On a break.
  2. Use the minus and plus buttons to set how long, five minutes at a time, or fill in or back at with a clock time. A break starts at 15 minutes and can run from 5 to 120 minutes.

You will see: the length you set, and the audience's page tells them you are on a break.

The strip on the live screen then shows On a break with the time left. Its buttons add or take away five minutes, and I am back ends it. Nothing happens by itself when the time runs out.

Requests keep coming in while you are away.

Message

  1. Type in the box, or tap one of the saved messages to fill it. You can edit it first.
  2. Tap Put it on your page.

You will see: your words under On your page now, and on your audience's page.

A message holds up to 120 characters. The ones saved to start with are Last few songs, Requests still open, Just starting up and One more set to go. Tap Save for later to keep your own, and the cross on a saved message to remove it. Tap the cross beside On your page now to take the message down.

If you close the panel with words not yet sent, it asks. You can choose Put it on your page, Throw it away or Go back.

End gig is also at the foot of this panel. See Ending a gig.
