HelpRunning a gig

The live screen

What every button and mark on the live screen does, from the bar at the top to the Played and Skipped handle at the foot.

The live screen shows very few words on purpose. It is read at arm's length between songs. This page says what each part does.

The bar at the top

  • LIVE and your venue name.
  • Showing: a list for swapping the songbook during the gig. It only appears when you have songbooks.
  • A theme control for the colours of this screen, for this gig.
  • Start, the clock, End and the time left. Tap the time left to add time or set a new end. See Ending a gig.
  • The cross at the right returns you to your Dashboard. It does not end the gig.

The counts

Under the bar, one row of figures:

  • A number followed by waiting: requests still in the queue.
  • A second number: how many of the audience have asked at this gig.
  • A tips total, which appears with the first tip. Tap it to see who tipped.
  • A small chip with the current order of the queue. See Queue order.

The two buttons above the queue

  • Add a song puts a song in your own queue. See Adding a song yourself.
  • Room controls opens a panel with a message, a break and a switch for stopping new requests. See Room controls.

A request card

Each card is one song. It shows the song and artist, a count such as ×3 when several phones asked, and the names given.

  • Played takes it out of the queue and onto the Played list.
  • Skip takes it out of the queue and onto the Skipped list.
  • If you already played that song at this gig and it is asked for again, Skip reads Already played.
  • Chords opens the chart you saved for the song. Find chords searches the web instead. If you play to backing tracks, these read Lyrics and Find lyrics.
  • NEW marks a request that just arrived. Yours marks a song you added yourself. ACT marks a request where someone named an act instead of a song.
  • Tap the song or the names to open a panel listing who asked. From there you can block a phone or report a request. See Blocking, pausing and reporting.

The handle at the foot

The strip at the foot reads Played and a number, Skipped and a number. Tap it to open the lists.

  • Undo beside a song puts it back in the queue.
  • Popular here appears when this room has asked for songs at past gigs. It splits them into To learn and You already play.
  • Held back appears when a request tripped the language filter. It stays off your public page and out of your queue, and it is your call whether to play it or skip it.
  • From before appears when another act passed requests on. See Sharing and handover between acts.

End gig is at the very bottom of the queue.
