Turning tips off

Switching tips off, for every gig or for one gig, is part of Pro, which is coming soon and not on sale yet.

Tips are on for every gig once Stripe is connected. Switching them off is part of Pro. Pro is coming soon and is not on sale yet.

If you are not on Pro

You can see the controls, marked with the Pro badge and greyed out. If you press one, it says "Part of Pro. Coming soon." For now, tips stay on for every gig once Stripe is connected. See Standard and Pro. Without Stripe there is no tip button at all: see No Stripe at a gig.

Turning tips off for every gig (Pro)

  1. Open Setup, then the Tips section.
  2. At the top, find Take tips at my gigs.
  3. Switch it off.

You will see: "Saved." and the note "Your audience sees no tip button, no fees and no tipping wording anywhere. They can still send requests."

Every gig now starts with tips off. The rest of the Tips form goes grey but keeps your choices, and switching tips back on gives them straight back.

Turning tips off for one gig (Pro)

This is for a wedding, a private party or a charity gig.

  • Before you start: on the Go Live form, use the Tips switch. Switching it off asks "Turn tips off for this gig?" and says "Nobody at this gig will be able to tip you. This gig only: nothing changes on Setup." Press Turn tips off, or Keep tips on.
  • During the gig: open Room controls and use Tips at this gig. It shows Tips on or Tips off. Off means "No tip button, and no fee wording."

Either way it is this gig only. Your own setting is not changed, and requests carry on exactly as they are. The next gig starts with whatever your Take tips at my gigs setting says. Phones that already have your page open catch up on their own. Switching tips back on asks nothing.
