Sharing and handover between acts
When two acts play the same venue, requests the first act did not get to can be offered to the second, with the names on them, if both have sharing on.
Turn sharing on or off
- Open the menu and tap Settings.
- Find the panel The live screen.
- Switch Share requests with the act before and after me on or off.
You will see: the switch moves. If it cannot save, a message says That did not save. Try again.
It is on unless you switch it off.
What it does
Sharing passes unplayed requests, with the names on them, between you and the act that goes live at the same venue before or after you.
It also adds your audience's songs, with no names or money, to what musicians see a venue asks for, and to what every act sees under Everyone.
Switch it off and none of that happens, in both directions. You stop passing requests on and you stop receiving them. While it is off, your past gigs do not count towards those lists either.
When it happens
All of these must be true:
- Both acts chose the same venue from the shared list, and both phones placed them near it.
- Both gigs are public. A private gig never passes requests on or receives them.
- The first gig ended no more than three hours before yours started, or ends while you are already live there.
- Both acts have the sharing switch on.
A chain can run as long as each gig is within three hours of the one before.
What you see
Nothing crosses on its own. When you go live and there is something to offer, the screen Before you start says another act played here earlier. Under They did not get to you tick the requests you want, then tap the button that reads, for example, Take 2 and start, or tap Skip.
Whatever you leave stays in the handle at the foot of the live screen as From before, with a number, for the three hour chain. Open it to see the tab From before, and Requests played for what the earlier act played.
If the other act hands over while you are already live, a banner appears saying requests were passed on from the act before. Tap it to choose which to add.
If another act is already live at your venue when you go live, you are asked whether to Ask if they have finished or say Different room. If they ask you, you can answer I have finished or Not yet. Nothing happens if you ignore it.
What is never shared
- The act before is never named to the act after, and no money or tips pass between them.
- Names go with a request. The name on a request is deleted three hours after the gig ends. If it was passed on, the copy is deleted three hours after the receiving gig ends.
