Ways to add songs to your list

There are four tabs on the Songs screen for adding songs, plus two ways songs arrive on their own.

Open Songs in the bottom bar. Under My songs you will find a card called Add songs. It has four ways in. Use whichever suits what you have to hand.

The four tabs

  • Search: type at least two letters and tap a result to add it. A tick shows it is on your list. Tap it again to take it off. The box shows up to 30 results at a time.
  • Build my list: AI suggests twenty songs at a time and you tick the ones you play. Good if you are starting from nothing. See Build my list, twenty at a time.
  • Import: bring a list you already have. A CSV, an Excel file, a Word document, a PDF, a text file or a photo of a page all work, and so does pasting text. See Importing a list and checking it.
  • Add manually: type a song title and an artist. Use this for your own songs, or anything the catalogue does not have. Both boxes are needed. If the song looks like one you already have, AnyRequests asks if you meant that one, and you can still choose Add mine anyway.

Try Search first. It saves the typing.

Songs that add themselves

  • When you mark a request Played. The switch Add songs to this list when I mark them Played is on Songs, under My songs. It starts switched on. When someone asks for a song that is not on your list and you tap Played, the song is added. This only works for songs that are in the catalogue. A request typed in free text is not added, so add those yourself. It is hidden when you are on My list only. See Add songs when you mark them Played.
  • From Worth learning. On the Dashboard, songs you skipped and never played can be added with a tap. See Worth learning.

After you add songs

Each song gets a Find chords button, or Chords once you save a link. See Chart links and the Chords button. To group songs for different gigs, see Songbooks.
