Closing your account
Closing takes your page down and cannot be undone; it removes your name and sign-in email but keeps tip records for seven years.
Closing is permanent. If you want your history, download your data first. The file does not include your tip records, so save your fee statements from Tips, then Documents, first if you want those.
What happens
- Your page at
anyrequests.app/followed by your page link comes down, so printed QR codes stop working. - Your name, tagline, images, links and sign-in email come off your account, and so do your notification subscriptions.
- You can no longer sign in.
- We keep the record of your tips and other payments for seven years for tax purposes, and your account number, which is never given to anybody else.
- Your gigs, songs and requests stay, with nothing on them that names you.
- Your Stripe account is yours and is not closed with it. You close that with Stripe.
Steps
- Open the menu and tap Settings, then Close account.
- Read the screen, then tap Close my account.
- Type your page link exactly as shown, in the box that says "Type" and your link "to confirm".
- Tap Close my account again. It stays greyed out until what you typed matches.
You will see: you are signed out and taken to the front page.
If it does not work
- "That is not your page link. Type it exactly as it is shown above. Nothing has changed." Check the spelling.
- "Your account could not be closed. Nothing has changed. Please try again." Try again.
- "The connection dropped before we heard back, so we cannot tell whether your account was closed. Reload the page to find out."
What we still hold
Some records stay after closing: what you agreed to, the record of who opened your account and what was changed, our notes, and copies of the notices we emailed you. See what we keep and for how long.
