Check your code scans before you print
Use See the code on its own to show the square large and clear on your screen, then scan it with a second phone.
Check the code on screen
- Open Share and print.
- Scroll the controls to See the code on its own and tap it. The screen says: Large and clear, so you can check it scans before you print.
- Hold the screen steady. The code fills the screen, with the words Check it scans and your address underneath.
- Scan it with a second phone, using its camera.
- Tap Done (or anywhere on the screen) to close it.
You will see: the second phone offers your page. Open it and check the act name and address are right.
The screen is kept awake while the code is up, where the phone allows it, so it does not go dark while you are scanning.
If you have no gig live, the page that opens says Not taking requests right now. That is correct. It means the code works.
Check the printed sheet
Print one copy first and scan the paper, not the screen. Check it from the distance the audience will scan from, which for a wall poster is further than for a table card. The pack prints the real size of the square under the preview, for example "124mm code".
Two things to check if it fails:
- The printer shrank the page. Print at actual size, not "fit to page", or the square comes out smaller than the pack showed.
- You changed your page link after printing. The code holds your page link, so a new link means a new code.
