Printing at home

Choose At home, download the PDF and print it at actual size (100%), never fit to page, on card in the size the pack tells you.

  1. Open Share and print and choose your design and size. See Choosing a size and a design.
  2. Under Printing, make sure At home is selected. The screen says: Exact paper size with a safe border, so nothing is cut off.
  3. For an A5 or A6 table card, open the Printing group and pick Sides (see below).
  4. Tap Download PDF.
  5. Open the PDF and print it. Choose actual size (100%), not "fit to page". If the printer shrinks the page, the code and the cut lines come out too small.
  6. Print on card, not copier paper, if you want it to stand up on a table.

You will see: a PDF at exact paper size. The file name starts with your page link and ends in -home.pdf.

Prefer to see it first? Print without downloading opens the PDF in a new tab.

Which paper

For Signal, the line under the Download PDF button names the paper.

A4Print on A4 card.
A5Print on A5 card.
A6Print on A6 card.
A5 foldedPrint on A4 card and fold in half.
A6 foldedPrint on A5 card and fold in half.
Business cardPrint on A4 card and cut along the guides.

A business card sheet holds ten cards on a portrait A4, with short cut guides in the spare paper.

Most home printers leave a thin white edge round the page. The pack says this is normal.

Table cards: sides

For A5 and A6 the Sides setting has up to three choices.

  • One side: one card per page. Print, cut, done.
  • Folded card: a front and a back side by side on one sheet. Print one side only and fold down the middle so it stands on a table. Score along the fold first, or heavy card cracks along the crease.
  • Two sides: two pages, front then back. Print back to back if your printer does both sides, or a print shop can do it. Front and Back buttons switch the preview.

Designs other than Signal

After Dark and Plain print several cards to one A4 sheet, to cut up: 2 A5 cards, 4 A6 cards or 9 business cards. Under How many to a sheet you can choose One per page, at its real size instead. That needs paper that size, or a printer you can tell to shrink it.

On a shared sheet each card has a 5mm white edge, which is what you cut down. A coloured sheet shows a note about this beside the download.

Ink

A very dark background uses a lot of ink and can make the paper cockle. The pack warns you. If your printer struggles, choose a lighter colour set, or use a print shop.
