The code on its own (PNG and SVG)
Download just the QR square as a PNG or an SVG, always black on white, to use in posts, listings or artwork.
Download the plain code
- Open Share and print. On a phone, tap More choices.
- Scroll down to The code on its own.
- Tap Download PNG or Download SVG.
You will see: a file named with your page link, ending
-qr.pngor-qr.svg.
The screen says: No poster around it, for social posts, gig listings, or sending to whoever makes your artwork.
Which one to use
| File | Use it for |
|---|---|
| PNG | Social posts, an event page, a Word document, or a venue asking for "a picture of the code". It is at least 2000 pixels each way, and the screen shows the exact size. |
| SVG | A designer, a printer or a banner. It has no fixed resolution, so it can be made as big as you like and stays sharp. |
Always black on white
There is no option for a see-through background or for colours, and that is on purpose. The screen explains: Always black on white. Over a colour or a photograph, a see-through background leaves nothing for a camera to read, and the code fails.
The white edge is part of the code. Keep it. If you put the code on a coloured poster, place the whole white square on it, and do not crop into the white.
It is the same code as the sheets
The PNG and the SVG carry exactly the same address as your printed sheets, so a code in a post and a code on a poster both reach your page. Scan it with a second phone before you use it. See Check your code scans before you print.
