HelpPrint pack

Colours, lettering and layout

Every colour, text colour, lettering style and layout the print pack offers, for each of the three designs.

Where the settings are

Open the Printable QR pack and tap More choices on a phone. The settings are in folding groups: Colours, Name on the sheet, Lettering, Layout, Your logo, Photograph, Your pictures and Printing. A closed group shows its current choice beside its name.

Signal colours

Signal has five colour sets. Each has three text colours.

ColoursText colour choices
Dusk and amberCream, Amber, Violet
Hot pink and limeDeep plum, Black, Deep magenta
MonochromeOff-white, Silver, Stone
Ink and aquaWhite, Aqua, Lavender
Bone and orangeBlack, Espresso, Burnt orange

After Dark colours

After Dark is a base plus a highlight, which makes twelve combinations.

  • Base: Near Black or Midnight.
  • Highlight: Hot pink, Amber, Aqua, Lime, Violet or Coral.

Its text colours are White, the highlight you chose, and a quiet grey-blue that goes with the base (Mist on Near Black, Steel on Midnight).

Plain colours

Plain prints in one ink, so there is no separate text colour to pick. Everything on the sheet is the colour you chose.

  • Black and white or Colour on white.
  • With Colour on white, pick one colour: Navy, Teal, Forest, Burgundy, Plum, Indigo, Chestnut or Slate.
  • Reverse flips it to white on that colour (or white on black).

Greyed-out text colours

Some text colours are shown but cannot be chosen. They are too close to the background to read. Tap one and the pack tells you the reason and gives a number, for example how many to 1 the contrast is, where print needs 4.5. Pick another text colour, or change the colours above.

Lettering

Each design has three lettering styles. They sit in the Lettering group.

DesignLettering choices
SignalGeometric, Grotesque, Typewriter
After DarkTracked serif, Tracked geometric, Quiet grotesque
PlainCondensed and plain, Geometric, High contrast serif

Layout

The Layout group decides what the eye lands on first.

DesignLayout choices
SignalInstruction leads, Act name leads
After DarkInstruction leads, Act name leads
PlainInstruction leads, code centred; Instruction leads, code on the margin; Act name leads

If your act name is the draw, choose Act name leads. If you want the room to know what to do from across the pub, leave the instruction in front.

You will see: the preview changes as soon as you tap a colour, a lettering style or a layout.

If your colours are for your own page rather than your printed sheet, see Colours and typeface. The two are separate settings.
