Your page link and printed codes
Your printed codes point at your page link, so changing the link stops every code you have already printed from working.
How the code and the link are tied together
Your QR code is a picture of your page address, for example anyrequests.app/yourname. The last part is your page link. Someone who scans a printed code is sent to that exact address.
If you change your page link, the old address no longer reaches your page. Codes you have already printed, and codes you have already posted, still hold the old address. They stop working until you replace them.
So choose your link before you print. If you must change it, print again afterwards.
The rules for a link
- 3 to 30 characters
- lowercase letters, numbers and dashes only
- not already taken by someone else
- not one of the words AnyRequests keeps for itself, such as
help,settingsortry
To find your link
Open View my live page in the menu. The address at the top of your browser is your page link. In Setup, Your details shows it under Page link.
To change it
- Open Setup, then Your details.
- Type the new link in Page link. Under it you are told whether it is available.
- Read the warning: "Careful: changing it breaks printed QR codes."
- Press Save your details.
- Open Share and print in the menu and print your codes again.
You will see: the note Saved. under the section, and your new address in View my live page.
In the setup screens
While you are first setting up, your link follows your act name. Once you have opened the print pack or played a gig, the setup screen asks you to tick I understand printed codes will stop working before it lets you change the link.
If someone says their scan does not work
First check that the printed code was made with your current link. See my printed code does not scan.
