How you play
Say whether you are solo, a duo or trio, or a band, and whether you play live instruments or backing tracks, to set a few words in the app.
What it is for
How you play is two questions. You answer them once, and they set your usual choices for every gig.
- Who is playing: Solo, Duo or trio, or Band.
- How you play: Live instruments or Backing tracks.
They only change some of the words in the app. Nothing is hidden either way.
What changes
| If you choose | What changes |
|---|---|
| Solo | When requests can be passed on at your gig (never on a private gig), the line on your audience page says "If I don't play it, it may be passed on, with any name you added, if someone is on after." |
| Duo or trio, or Band | Under the same conditions the line says "If we don't play it, it may be passed on, with any name you added, if someone is on after." |
| Live instruments | The link on a song is called Chords, and the finder says "Find chords". |
| Backing tracks | The link on a song is called Lyrics, and the finder says "Find lyrics". The finder searches the web for the lyrics. |
In the setup screens, the first time you choose Duo or trio or Band, the wording of your tip button starts as "Tip the band", unless you have already chosen another.
To change it
- Open Setup, then How you play.
- Choose under Who is playing and under How you play.
- Press Save how you play.
You will see: the note Saved. under the section.
You can change it for one gig
On the Go Live form a line says "Playing as a solo act", "Playing as a duo or trio" or "Playing as a band", with Change. Changing it there is for that gig only.
If you skipped it
This question is not required. Solo and Live instruments are preselected, and if you skip the screen those two are stored for you. Setup then says "You skipped this, so Solo and Live instruments are in use." Press These are right to confirm and tick it off your Setup checklist.
