HelpGetting started

Your act name, page link and tip button name

You have three names: the act name on your page, the page link in your web address, and the short name on the tip button.

The three names

NameWhat it isRules
Act nameShown at the top of your page when you have no logoUp to 80 characters
Page linkThe end of your web address, for example anyrequests.app/yourname3 to 30 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and dashes only
Name on the tip buttonWhat your audience sees on the tip button and in the hello, for example "Tip Adele" rather than "Tip Adele Adkins Music"Up to 24 characters

A duo, trio or band can use its own name on the tip button.

While you are setting up, your page link follows your act name. You can type your own instead. If the link is already taken, or is a word we keep for ourselves, such as help or try, you are told.

Your page link is the address on your printed code. Once you have opened the print pack or played a gig, changing it would stop printed codes working. The setup screen then asks you to tick I understand printed codes will stop working before it lets you change it. See your page link and printed codes.

To change any of them later

  1. Open Setup.
  2. Open Your details to change your act name or page link.
  3. Open Tips and find What the audience calls you to change the name on the tip button. If you play solo and leave it blank, your first name is used; a group's whole name is used.
  4. Press Save your details, or Save tip settings for the tip button name.

You will see: the note Saved. under the section you changed. While you type a new page link, Setup warns that changing it breaks printed QR codes.

In the setup screens

On the first setup screen all three are needed before Next will work. It shows "Still needed" with whatever is missing.
