The live preview
The live preview shows a mock-up of your audience page that changes as you edit, with sample songs and made-up numbers.
What it is
The live preview is a small picture of your audience page. It changes as you edit, before you save, so you can see a colour, a logo or a tagline straight away.
It is a mock-up. It is drawn with sample songs and made-up numbers. It is not your own song list, and these are not real requests. Your audience sees your own songs and whatever they have actually asked for.
On a wide screen, the preview is a phone beside the form, under the heading Live preview. Press the small i beside the heading to read the same explanation.
On a phone or a narrow window
When the window is 900 pixels wide or narrower, the preview is a small floating thumbnail so it does not take up the form.
- Tap the thumbnail to open it larger.
- Drag it anywhere on the screen. It settles against the nearer side.
- Press the cross, Hide the preview, tap the thumbnail again, or tap anywhere else to shut it.
If the field you are editing is behind it, an open preview shuts, and a closed one moves out of the way.
It follows what you are editing
When you open a section in Setup, the preview moves to the part of the page that section changes:
- Your details, Look and feel and Images: the top of the page, with your name or logo, tagline and header photo
- Tips: the tip screen
- Your links: the links under the request form
You will see: the preview scroll to the matching part of the page.
Things to remember
- The preview does not save anything. Press the section's save button, or Save everything.
- Tips only show on your real page once Stripe is connected. The setup screens say: "Your tip button shows once tips are set up."
- In the setup screens, the preview is captioned "This is what your audience will see." and the request form in it is sample content.
- To see your real page, open View my live page in the menu. To practise as the audience, see try it as the audience.
